Pain, How You Can Handle It

While I've been ill for a number of months, and some of the functions in my body are still something like a building site on which some more medical and surgical repair work will take place, I have been taught something important, something to enable me to get through the days with more bliss and serenity. . . . I used to think that I'm in pain, but I was wrong. I used to think I'm p.iss.ing blood every day, but I was not thinking correctly. The truth is a completely different thing - my body is in pain, and so it is only correct to say that the body is in pain. It would be wrong to state that I was. - Likewise, I observe that some of my body's functions are in disorder, and those are, as implied, functions, not of me but of my body. . . . Never go to see a doctor and say 'I'm ill,' or 'I'm in pain.' Think of the facts in the correct way and let the doctor know that your body is ill, and that your body is in pain. I say, 'My body is in pain because he is ill.' But if you are female, say, 'My body is in pain because she is ill.' That's because you are either born in a female or in a male body. You say these things with your mind - or, better spoken, your mind says those things. I believe your mind is neither male nor female, but don't take my word on that. . . However, if your body is in pain, remember not to confuse things like I used to do. . . That which is YOU cannot be in physical pain, because you are not your body. If you notice that your body IS in pain, you can use your mind to do something bout it. The Body, the Mind, and You - three different things. If you remember that, or your mind remembers it, you will avoid much of the suffering which comes as a torment. There may be suffering, but it no longer has the confusing, engulfing impact which it used to have.

(on the side: there's so much weird stuff on here, makes me think perhaps not many people here can actually read English properly.) - @princess nisha - U are right with those things, as a matter of fact I do play music, literally. I used to do it for a living, but now I really sit at home and play it to myself, which are often the best moments I get in a day, apart from looking after my little mousies. I suppose it's because by creating the sound of music with an instrument one takes the mind rather awayfrom the body, even if it has to be done with the hands.
