Here Is Step By Step Guide To Updating Nokia Mobile Phone Firmware. Things to do before a firmware update: 1. Install Nokia PC Suite, and back up all the stuff from your phone to your computer. 2. Charge your phone battery to its full level. 3. Beware that any hindrance (like power off, etc.) during the update process can damage your phone.

in latest phones, firmware updates through phone only, no need for pc or any pc suite. for nokia phones, go to dialer, press *#0000# and then go to options>check for updates.

major updates still require pc there too large for fwota but for safest updates thats best option to use fwota i just updated my n8 today to v25.7 via fwota, ovi suite was say important update 279mb smiley

the device fwota did it in i think 1mb lol but my brotherz n8 also shows the same update but refuses the smaller fwota update method and insists ovi suite downloads and flashes the full 279mb smiley

my is newer and my product code is different so i guess thats why
