I watched a programme last week, all about the life and teachings of mohammed, his persecution in the early years and his rise to prophet and founder of a new religion. Its clear to me that his teachings have been rewritten and twisted over the years, especially his thoughts on jihad. All killing was abhorrant to him, except in the case of self defence. Now suicide bombers kill innocents. Your views please?

U knw Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) always hated sword(violence). But thr were few instances whr he was forced to fight in defence. So then he prayed to Allah, and Allah revealed verses to allow muslims to fight against the opressors/opressions. But laid strict rules along wid.. Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) announced durin 1st battle, i.e battle of badr. He said the followin.. 1) dnt attack any women, kids or elderly men. 2) dnt attack those men, who r workin in feilds. 3) dnt cut any tree 4) fight wid only those, who hav opressed u, ur rights, but durin dis if they regret n ask for forgiveness, then forgive them n Take them to a safer place. Protect them. For Allah dnt like those who cross limits. Look at these orders. How beautiful are they.. M so proud of my religion.. And sucide is totally haram in Islam, so no question of suicide bombin.. And killin of any innocent is also haram..that very clear

We should keep in mind that many of the atrocities, are wrongly blamed on any particular religion. The warmongers are fully aware of people's closeness to their religion, and then abuse concepts of "jihad , holy war, relgious cleansing" etc. etc., to perpetrate their heinous crimes against humanity. By citing religious convictions, they are able to induce followers into doing their dirty work for them. Thereby wishing to obtain iconic status, and to escape prosecution. The gains of these actions, are NEVER diverted to the religious group whom's name has so vainly been used. Nor to the "soldiers" families that has lost a son, a father, brother, sister or daughter. Instead, these spoils of war, are to be used to further the "religious cause". But these warlords conveniently don't reveal the fact that these "causes" are in fact their own agendas for their own purposes. It is not religion that promotes inhumane actions, but individuals and groups of zealots
