Chemistry Quantitative (A). Put C in a testtube and add 10cm3 of distilled water, filter and keep both the filterate and residue. (B). To about 2cm3 of the filterate add a few drops of NaOH and warm gently. (Bii). To another portion of filterate add a few drops of HNO3 followed by AgNO3 then add NH3 in excess. (Ci). Put residue in a testtube and add about 5cm3 of Hcl, shake to dissolve. (Cii). To about 2cm3 of the solution add NaOH in drops and in excess (Ciii). To another 2cm3 of solution add NH3(aq) in drops and in excess.

Solution 4 chemistry [b]Rule ur lines then write test in ur first column then write obsesvation in the 2nd column, then write inference in the last column then underline it. Move under the column of (test) and write, C + distilled + shake. Go to (observation) and write C is partly soluble in water. Then move to (inference) and write C contains soluble and insoluble salts. (bi) (Test) Filterate +NaOH + warm. (observation) Colourless gas with a pungent smell. (Inference) Gas is NH3 From NH+4. (bii) (Test) Filterate + HNO3 + AgNO3 + NH3 in excess. (Observation) White ppt formed which dissolves in excess NH3. (inference) Cl- present. (Ci) (test) residue + Hcl + shake. (Observation) Effervescence occours. A colourless, odourless gas which turns lime water milky is evolved. (Inference) The gas is CO2 From CO2-3 OR HCO-3. (cii) (test) solution+NAOH in drops + excess. (observation) White gelatinous ppt is formed. PPT is soluble in excess NaoH. (inference) Zn2+, Pb2+, or Al3+ present. (ciii) (Test)
