According to wikipedia the Bluetooth technology was invited by ericsson, a part of Sony ericsson, in 1994.
wikipedia: Bluetooth is an open wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances (using short wavelength radio transmissions) from fixed and mobile devices, creating personal area networks (PANs) with high levels of security. Created by telecoms vendor Ericsson in 1994.
#2 Just like symbian belongs to Nokia, Androids belongs to google and iappp belongs to Apple. The largest available Sun microsystemsJava platform actually is an OE made especially for SE. You can also see that on java's official site - Java+SE.
Most probably thats why all the java apps runs very smoothly on a SE whereas they're too slow and sometimes doesn't even work on Nokia and other devices.
