This question applies to certain cultures only. In some both are well paid so they don't care, in some the woman doesnt even care. In the others women are house wives and either they grab hold of the husbands salary or the husband doesn't even let her touch them. It is all very different around the world. But I just don't get how money is so important for couple. You should sort this out before marriage.

It's my opinion that a man has certain responsibilities and duties towards his woman regardless. It's his duty to ensure she has some finances of her own if she doesn't have any form of income. Getting a job isn't as simple for some people so if a man can afford to maintain the well-being of his lady, I don't see a problem. Some women aren't as fortunate to have a well paying job, some even negelected education by circumstances beyond their control perhaps. I think it's only fair if a guy loves a woman & he knows her financial situation & is willing to make things better for her then giving her allowance seems like the right thing to do. It shows that he is has the willingness to take care of her. Some people just need to be realistic & realise that even in this day and age, there are quite a lot of people still unemployed & living under the breadline. Some places people are over educated & still find it difficult to obtain a job.
