which is better for photography

Eeprom: depends on the camera .model but generally cameras have features not available smartphones cameras like optical zoom and lots more
but the camera phones are very convient and can give great results ,you can also do a lot with windows phone 8 in imaging apps inc lenses apps and the zeiss camera optics are about the best available.
My lumia is 1020 and has best camera a phone can have (41mp) and is sucessor to symbian pureview 808 with a very similar camera but put them alongside my nikon p510 (16.1mp) and nikon wins evertime but its downside is the size its need go in a camera bag whereas lumia goes in pockets.
Myself if i had to choose between a good camera phone and a digital camera for my own personal use id choose the camera phone , lately i find my digital cameras getting neglected in favour of more convenient camera phones , im not a professional photographer and im really quite satisfied with the results i get from camera phones, i first questioned owning both after getting a nokia n73 and being impressed with the still image results and that was years ago

My friend I have been using the 720 for almost a year and believe me the camera is just amazing. Its gives pictures that even some phone with 16 mp cannot. When it comes to Mobile photography Lumia range wins handsdown.
To be fair a Cannon will take a much better resolution than the 720 but there is alot more editing and stuff you can do with the phone as Eeprom said. How much is your budget?
