In one of his holy book, he says to his bondmen about himself. Call Him The God or call Him The Compassionate, by what ever attributions you call, all good attributions are belong to Him.

Allah is not a proper noun or name. It a compound arabic word which means The+God=The God. In arabic Elah means God and when Al is attached with it. It b'comes Allah. AL+Elah=Allah.
