Things Go Bang Around Him Perhaps it's that extra Y chromosome that genetically maps them this way but all men love loud bangs, exploding things and weapons right from childhood. It doesn't scream of spiritual evolvement but we can't deny that it's in their basic instinct. That being said, why wouldn't they be obsessed with a man whose sheer presence seems to light the fuse of grenades, cars and anything else that can go..well..bang! Then he walks away without so much as a glance back (which, on a completely different tangent reminded us of this) the picture of unruffled cool and never suffers the side-effects of having been so close to a goddamn explosion. Every Bond film thus far has had at least one explosive scene if not one every eight minutes so there's never a dearth of smoke around the oh-so-studly secret agent. We repeat, what's not to love?

All Bond Women Are Ridiculously Hot Or Ugly And Psychopathic The James Bond franchise wasn't exactly created on the basis of any kind of reality or for a particularly intelligent audience (another good reason to explain men's love for him, they can actually comprehend what he's all about). It's all black and white and this same philosophy is happily attributed to the women of the series, all of whom would probably do well to sue the makers for the sheer sexism in these scripts, we might well add. So here's our logic. Every woman in this series is either unnaturally hot or terrifyingly unattractive. They then go on to split the former into really cool (not clingy) women who cannot resist Bond's charm while the latter are usually sadistic villains who he wouldn't be tempted to sleep with anyway (read: Rosa Klebb). When you put it like that, it isn't too hard to see why men might consider Bond's world something of a Utopian paradise.

No Strings Attached Sex With Extraordinary Women. He's got some serious game, this Bond fellow. He somehow manages to hook up with every hot woman who so happens to cross paths with him without wooing them too hard or having to deal with the more commonplace aftermath of sex with a leggy lass—a relationship! Heck, they don't even ask for a cuddle because they're so convinced of his playboy demeanour that they don't even expect anything more. Now why can't men have it like that in real life? And don't say it's the lack of designer suits and fancy sports cars.

He Never Really Loses… Given man's inherently competitive nature—possibly related to that age-old survival of the fittest instinct—any man who's a consistent winner is definitely someone worth admiring for other men. Bond might have weaker moments but just when you think he's finally going to experience loss in some format or the other, he comes out on top. It would almost be sickening if he wasn't so damn awesome.

Every Car He Begs, Borrows, Owns Or Steals Is Plain Awesome. And finally, who needs any of the above-mentioned reasons when you have this one. Every superlative version of the BMW, Alfa Romeo, Bentley, Cadillac and Aston Martin (to name but a few) has made its way into the list of cars this 007 agent has toyed with, not to mention often carelessly destroyed with a single explosion or action sequence much to our dismay. Anyone who has such unlimited access to this spectacular fleet of cars is an enviable man indeed. At least in the eyes of all other members of the male species. At the end of the day, James Bond is everything any non-fictional man could even dream of being. And this, dear readers, is enough reason to trump them all.
