this was the article in papers today over here it also shows that not all muslims agree with the way its all been handled and not all of them believe we all racist or bigots so for all those that think im against all muslims read this from the islamic council over here in my state.

VICTORIAN Muslim leaders were calling for peace last night and imploring followers not to let ugly violence spread south. The Islamic Council of Victoria slammed the Sydney unrest, in which riot police clashed with protesters, as "abhorrent". "The ICV is appalled by the riots in Sydney," spokeswoman Shereen Hassan said. "While it is abhorrent that individuals should disrespect Prophet Mohammed, it is even more abhorrent that Muslims should defile his peaceful teachings by acting in such a vile manner. "Inflammatory films or provocative actions such as burning the Koran are ... activities by bigots who are the fringe of society. They do not represent the feelings of (most) ... non-Muslims towards Muslims.

"These people are best ignored or their offensive and inaccurate ideas countered by rational and factual ones expressed in a peaceful manner, as encouraged by our religion."

Noble Park imam Ibrahim Omerdic said protests should have been peaceful. "It's against society and probably against the law to (do that) on the street," he said. "Peaceful protest, but not violence." But he said Muslims had a right to be offended by the 13-minute YouTube film, The Innocence of Muslims, and voice their anger.

"In front of the embassy, that is fine, the film was made in America, not in Australia. Whether it's Muslim, Jewish, Christian - all prophets are to be respected." Imam Omerdic said no one at his mosque had mentioned plans for protests in Melbourne. The mosque was once shared by the head of al-Furqan, an organisation at the centre of the terror raids. The clip has sparked anger for portraying the Prophet Mohammed as a barbaric sexual deviant

A trailer of the film has been viewed more than four million times. Violence began after a two-minute portion of the movie was shown on Egyptian TV. A Facebook group linked to protests against insults to Mohammed said more could be held next Sunday. Victoria Police said there was no indication that there would be similar protests in Melbourne.

u know wot gets me with all this it was a 13min clip put on youtube made by a few ppl it wasnt a full feature film distributed in theartes. and yes i can understand why its upset muslims but they now been violent against all americans and australians and all other countries and races and religions. it goes against all islam is supose to stand for they making that 13min clip true

You know... It's like these people are WAITING for a reason to get out on the street and create havoc! They think it's a huge deal to burn flags and make a huge fuss over things which happens even to other beliefs and religions. Good thing is, not all Muslims approve of or agree with these fanatics' behaviour. It's just the same group of people who keep on reminding the rest of the world how violent their religion can get. And then there's a handful of such freaks here at 2wap who openly support such violence. Chocolateboy even admitted that he supported Bin Laden, a couple of years back. If educated people can have such a mind set, I can understand and pity the uneducated people who follow them...

the thing is we openminded and can see its not all like that yet we the 1s made out to b against them and get the abuse from them. its no wonder so many ppl dislike wots happening the few making the fuss about it all agree with all that goes against wot their religion is they dnt want to see wot they doing wrong so they blame every1 that isnt of same belief

If we keep quite then tommorow there will be more to follow against our prophet and religion, we can not just sit and see , and if its regarding our prophet PBUH , then hell NO! We have a right to protest against those ppl who are trying to defame our religion! No muslim support violance , Even Islam is a religion of PEACE ! No body raises voice when some european countries kill muslims for the sdake of oil , its not wrong in anybody's eyes , but when muslims fight back for their right they are called violant and terrorist ! No religion or community is clean 100% , all have some blacksheeps because of whom their community is being proved violant , bad etc , Its not only the case with Islam and Muslims , so media have to take a step to ignore such ppl so that they wont get importance , and media and ppl should see the good things in Islam and muslims ,

It had nothing to do with Germany either, and still a german embassy was attacked, all that shows that there's no such thing as simply an angry mob reacting spontaneously. The angry mob has to be manipulated and directed by the psychotic fanatics who take any welcome opportunity to continue their religious war. Also, a spontaneously reacting angry crowd cannot carry out an attack in a form needing the planning of military-like action as it was done. - I, too, remember choc boy supporting Bin Laden because I complained to the Adminis about it at the time, I think he's simply not the fine Swiss kind of chocolate but some inferior stuff with a bad taste. - All the psychotic fanatics do is giving 'their' religion a bad name. I've already forgotten my 'political correctness' and my democratic education where Islam is concerned: My home has long become an Islam free zone by definition. I'm not only sick of Islamists, I'm sick of hearing about Islam. And in the long run, that's all which the psychotic fanatics will achieve in the whole world outside their psychosis.

You say you have the right to protest... Yes you do. But they are going about it the wrong way. Violence doesn't solve this kind of an issue. And then you go on to say that media should ignore the violent protests... No they need not. It's their job and their right to report it. Unfortunately, violence is what people would prefer to watch on news channels. And it's obvious that these fanatics are doing all that to get on the news. Just like you are proud of letting the world know that you support such freaks, including Bin Laden, they also want the world to know that islam is a violent religion, which lets its followers kill any non believers, as they wish.

I never quote any one unless they deserve it ,I was here for some fruitfull debate coz i found spoon in for a interesting discussion and i appreciate that. If international media is so eager to show the violance in middle east over film issue then where were they at the time of Assam riot, Burma riot? Thats just so stupid biased media , As couple of people are so interested in personal attack rather than discussion then let me remind them once again ( my profile also says that) we as muslims does not support kind of violance , but if fighting against powers who are killing innocent muslims , kids , men and women is terrorism in your eyes then its your problem ! get a life
