Almost all literature of dress is confined to women. One can hear women discuss dress anywhere and everywhere. They talk as earnestly about their clothes as men talk about their professions. But contrary to this, men hardly ever talk of dress, except as a matter of jest. It does not mean that men are indifferent to dress, but they think it bad manner to discuss it in public.
