We all know what The Universal Declaration of Human Rights says, but what does the term human rights mean to you, and are you aware of your rights and rights of others? And also, what is the difference between civil rights and human rights?

Well explained by others. Just stretching it further with a gist of it: Human rights are more limited to an individual, whereas Civil rights are social concerns.

The two words seem to be used in different contexts Civil rights - rights layed out by the constitution. Human Rights- "rights" that are not covered under the constitution. For example "rights" of people in foreign countries where the constitution doesn't apply.Or universal helath care may be "human right", but not a civil right.

Human rights are those that are commonly accepted rights of all people regardless of religion, nationality, ethnicity, etc... Civil rights are those rights that fall within the parameters of the laws and regulations of the society and culture of those that is is applied to. The right not to be killed at birth for being born a girl would be a human right whereas a woman's right to vote in the US would be a civil right. Now a woman's right to vote in a country that does not allow women to vote would not be a civil right (or any right) because the laws/rules of that society or culture does not grant woman that right. Basically, human rights are automatic whereas civil rights need to be granted or permitted by society.

Human rights are those rights that an individual enjoys becoz of being human. Civil rights are rights that an individual enjoys by virtue of citizenship.

Human rights are fundamental and should apply wherever mankind exists. Civil rights should be additional to or run concurrent with human rights, depending on the culture or needs of the society.

One is an extension of the other, a natural progression. You cannot acknowledge one yet deny the other therefore Human rights (a general idea) and Civil rights (a more specific idea) are two sides of the same coin.
