Life Lessons and Responsibility
Pets teach children
important lessons about life,
birth and bereavement.
When a pet passes away, it
is often a child's first
encounter with the death of
a loved one, which helps
them prepare for the loss of
friends and family members
in the future. Pets can also
help children connect and
develop a respectful
relationship with nature.
Children will learn
responsibility through small
but important tasks. They
most make sure the pet is
fed, cleaned and exercised
regularly, and that those
responsibilities take
preference over other
activities the child may wish
to do.
