U have Windows 7 installed first, and u want to make ur lappy dual boot ? Herez the procedure, install XP. Once u finish installing XP u will notice that only XP is booting and u r not getting any option to boot into Windows 7. Dont worry, insert bootable Windows 7 DVD and boot from it, when prompted to install Windows 7, click on REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER. It will automatically repair the bootloader of Windows 7. Login into Windows 7, install EASYBCD, run it and add an entry of Windows XP in the boatloader of Windows 7. Save and exit. there u r with dual boot laptop with Windows 7 preinstalled and XP installed later

Just to mention in case of any version of OS, install the older one for e.g. XP first, then the new one for eg Windows 7. The new ones will easily recognise the old one, but the old one does not even know the new one even exists, because for eg win 7 did not exist when XP came out
