The Journey Home: A forty year walk with PTSD

If this blogs title didn't scare you off I at least owe you a explanation. Just what is PTSD? The Technical explanation or name is Post Tramatic Stress Disorder. Well this is a bit of a hard part but I have been living with it for over the last forty years. Now I am not seeking sypathy or a shoulder to cry on. Dr. K thought it might be a good idea to blog about my journey. Well here it will be all the tears jeers laughter bad memoiries and good. Be fore warned somethings not be exactly pretty.

FRIDAY April 13 wow here Back at the GR Veterans clinic waiting to see a phsyc doctor about my meds. Trying to get everything balanced. It is funny that you have to have two differant doctors to prescribe medicene for you. oh and according to the doctors PTSD is not a mental illness. It is a injury caused to the brain by a tramatic shock. for instance losing a friend in a accedent or explosion and witness the event.

Bright and shiny day with two appointments. made it to anger management. vented out my frustrations with bigoted people harasing my friends with threats. why I didnt take out the bigot commun sense maybe over ruled the stick and gun. I had both close at hand.

Whatched the movie Red w/Bruce Willis, good. The wifes new pain pills came back up about two hours later. So back to square one with her.

MADE IT HOME and off to my wifes doctors we go. Trying more pills trying to manage her pain. By the pills because her insurance will not pay. Need to practice the art of peace and tranqillity... not get pissed off

Made it to group on time. Now sitting at my wifes doctor. Oh by the way someone shouted about my spelling. Thank God for spell check but I do not have it here. I figure I am doing good being self tought. So please bare with me dont mind correction. Have a hard time with non constructive complaining. thank you for your help.

OH boy where do I start with this some where around the begining should do. I believe it was in April of 72 with my uncles blessing and his wish for me to stay out of Vietnam Republic of. I enlisted into the United States Coast Guard. After sitting in forming company for two weeks comany lima 86 blazed our way through boot camp.Myself graduating with academic honors after spending most of my time in Regimental as a gofer for the drill instructers.
