Ahem! Hello folks!
2wap has undergone a massive change lately. It included hiding the staffs' list, making it impossible to know who is using tools over whom.. Everything under the rose? Awesome. This doesn't make any point, atlesst according to me because it's not helping 2wap gain any extra users or making 2wap a tad enjoyable. So why do this dumb-ass thing?

If you haven't considered this. New members are more like to get badgered by Shout Box dramas. Just think about it. You sign up a chat / forum only to confront to some drama on the home page. A bold suggestion indeed, and not without merit I think. However swiftly we move to resolve misuse of the shout, I can imagine how it could be intimidating for a newcomer to wander in only to experience such an immediate introduction to community politics.
If you haven't considered this. New members are more like to get badgered by Shout Box dramas. Just think about it. You sign up a chat / forum only to confront to some drama on the home page. Most sites don't have shout boxes and they do well. Instead of hiding the staff list. It would've better of without the shout box. I know there is a setting to turn it off. But most new guys won't know that. Or you can turn it off by default for new users instead of completely removing it. It's just my insight. I know a lot wont agree.

I have turned off the shout by default for new users to see if this makes any difference to the percentage of newcomers who remain active.

Glad you took it serious. Just got some questions. Where exactly is 2wap going? Since it's going downhill and not revamped with new version. Are the owners going to shut it down sooner or later?

Shoutbox is a good feature IMO. It makes a dead place like 2wapworld seem active, thanks to Smarty.

There is no prospect of 2wapworld closing within my lifetime. I don't agree that anything is going downhill, rather our online count and number of visitors per day remains consistently at the same level with a small spike some days. We are looking at perfecting features which will keep users online longer, such as the chess game which was launched in beta last month. And there will be a new web version and smartphone version later in the year. I think it cannot be argued that this is a far more feature-rich site than it was 2 years ago, and I aim for this technical development to continue.

Why would people sign up and use forums here? Most topics are just long copy pastes from internet. We can find them anywhere by googling. And they don't even include the source. Forums were meant for discussions, which is not an apparent thinking of 2wappers. I don't have prob with Copy pastes of News forum and their links. They can be acceptable.

So according to Mr Lame nothing is going downhill. Are you just blind or blank in your head? You have written on the front page of this site "active members today" which reads three digit figures.. Now that also includes those who just loggen in and logget out immediately. Well of course those figures are tongue in cheek and are meant to lure people. You had to pet people like KingSUCKER so that they could stay here all day. Have u seen that guy in forums? He sounds like a big jackass in his posts. You are doing good job in updating this site but there's no point in doing that if there's going to be nobody to use those features.
