Please dont assume anything which comes in your mind.
Where he said in post that he hates it?
And
if he is asking for detail then you should be proud and post details so that who does not knows can understand.
There are many more festivals which are celebrated across the world.
And its not necessary that individual will have knowledge of all festivals.
