the OLD news was Published Monday, April 23, 2012...........

A Saudi man was killed after his four-year-old son shot him in the head at their house in the Gulf Kingdom.

According to an AFP report, the boy shot and killed his father for refusing to buy him a PlayStation.

The Asharq daily, citing police in the southern Jizan area, said the child, aged four years and seven months, grabbed his father's pistol and shot him in the head.

According to the newspaper, the child had asked his father to buy him a PlayStation and the shooting took place after the man returned home without the desired object.

As he was undressing, the man put the weapon down, which the child then grabbed and fired at him from close range.

However, according to other Saudi papers, the father, in his 40s, had not noticed that his child had reached his gun and was playing with it before putting his little finger on the trigger.

“The boy pulled the trigger and a bullet hit his father in the head, killing him instantly,” Sabq Arabic language newspaper said in a report form the southern province of Jazan.

ok cpl of concerning questions there first 1 been why was the father carrying a loaded pistol? 2nd why he put it down where the child cld get it? 3rd how the hell did a child that young know how to fire a gun of any sort? 4 why wasnt the safety on with a child around and lastly is the child going to b put to death because of this? oh and for the record most of those questions i wld b asking no matter where this incedent occured

In my opinion, it could have happen absolutely anywhere around the globe, yes it is sad and it is tragedy, but the kid is not guilty for anything , what does a child knows about weapons and its harms? It was the parents irresponsibility for keeping loaded gun in a house !and especially where a child can reach it.. In the end, I hope the people who read your topic will learn something from it instead of focusing only on religion and pointing it out, one of the things we can learn and actually to do is to promote the awareness of the harms of weapons , especially if someone keeps it in the home.. The next is the harm and negative effects of video games to the kids, how does it affect their behaviour, there is so much to discuss here only if you focus on the informations that are important.

i agree with most of wot u said these things do happen everywhere all over the world and in this case it was irrisponsible parents. they shldnt have a loaded gun anywhere around a child let alone carry it around with them without safety on, i dont know how many stories ive read where guns have gone off accidentally and killed or seriously harmed ppl yet carrying a loaded gun around with no safety on around a child is just asking for trouble. video games on the other hand well if ur going to play them u need to realise they fiction not real life and i know thats not easy for sum but most realise it
