In the world 500,000 ppl got killed through DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. And over 1million got injured. PLZ put ur hand out 2 ppl if u see violence in thr homes. Dnt just say "they must sort it out" u can save a kids life if u help.

nee man! What i meant was, that i'd harm a violent person. Whteher or not that person is harming me... Like the one case i saw last week of a father giving his 2 year old daughter a blue eye. I mean, only an insane person would walk away from such a fiend.

OMG! Is that monster still living?? I already have a record coz of doing the right thing against such perpetrators, but you know what? I'll do it again. And again

thats my point...
i think its human nature to react that way to inhumane behaviour even though violence is violence at the end of the day.

Unfortunately, like Eeprom has mentioned here, we can't really directly step in to stop domestic violence, most times. We think it's easier that way, but it's not. Abused wives and girlfriends, more often than not, will not appreciate us interfering with their private lives. Perhaps out of fear or ego. Abused men(yes even men are being abused) won't let us help either. It's best to inform the authorities if you witness abuse and let them do the needful. Specially when children are involved. I know...... the bloody people whose job is to protect the abused may take too long or not act on the issue at all. In that case, you could just keep bugging them until they do. And if that doesn't work, you could threaten to report them. Now if you think why go to such an extent, then you don't really care about the abused. Cz if you do, you'd do all you can to fix the problem, once and for all. You getting involved personally will only make it worse for the abused.
The best we can do is to EDUCATE people. If you really care, get some printouts of websites, government organizations, NGOs and their contact details and pin them in public bathrooms, etc. Write to the papers about your personal experiences of abuse and let others know they're not alone. Let them know there are people here to help who expect nothing in return. Teach your children not to abuse others and never to be silent if they're being abused. There's a lot we can do, but we don't think of it as priority.

It's not as simple as you say..You may report the domestic violence million times ,it will remain the same if the victim itself doesn't seek for help.And most of the victims are unfortunatelly emotionally broken, when you live with abuser you tend to think he will change, then you put a blame on yourself which is what abuser want you to do. Until you don't take your own life in your own hands and until you don't make a decision to step out of such a hell,no one can help you. The only thing we as a society can do is what Kumz said above
