Britain is to start paying off more than £2 billion of debt from the great war, it was revealed today ha ha i saw it on DSTV channel 105 and 101 is an interesting movie though. Ha ha back to the subject.
The first repayment, of £218 million; is set to be made in February. The money will go to 11,200 holders of bonds issued by Winston Churchill then Chancellor in 1927. He issued the bonds to refinance the cost of the war in which 16 million people died, as well as debts dating back to the Napoleonic and Crimean wars.
