Kumz: Like most other situations, being boarded has its pros and cons.
Pros:
Ideal for working parents who may not be able to spend time with their child.
(depending on the people in charge and the quality of the the boarding) children will be more organized and disciplined.
They'll be given a time table which they WILL have to stick to no matter what.
They will waste less time on the road travelling to and from school, and will be able to spend more time studying and/or participating in other school activities.
...to name a few...
Cons:
The child will be deprived of special attention which can only be given by parents.
Greater chance of being bullied.
Depression...which can turn into an even more serious mental illness as the child grows.
...again...to name a few...
If a person brings a child into this world, they should be FULLY responsible of it. If one can't afford to have a child and be there for the child when they need the parents the most, then DON'T plan to have a child, just for your entertainment or to keep passing off your genes or what ever the reason. If your plans for your child includes day care or boarding school, don't have a child unless you want the child to be depressed from an early age.
My conclusion is... boarding school is beneficial for children whose parents have no time for them as there will be less chances of the child going astray from a very young age. However, I wouldn't suggest any parents to board their child if they can afford to spend a few extra hours with the child, everyday.
