You've got mail! by

So I was cleaning my desk , searching for some papers and run into the old letters from my friend. We went to the same high school and then in the 2nd grade she moved to the USA, but we promised we'll always keep in touch .And we did, we exchanged addresses and wrote letters to each other. I remember the feeling when I came home from school and mom's words you've got mail :-D, I couldn't wait to open it and used to read them over and over..
Anyways,my point is that the technology made things much easier to keep in touch with those we don't see often (with the help of mighty google and social sites I keep in touch with the same friend after a years of gap) yet its not the same feeling as when you write a letter to someone..I admit the last time I actually wrote a letter was maybe 6 years ago (not counting those cover letters for a job vacancies ).
So ,when was the last time you wrote a letter to someone or did you ever ?To a friend, a family member ,to your partner? If you did earlier , do you keep those in your box of memories like I do ?

I still remember the letter I wrote to my ex while I was about to depart coming back home.
Give my heartbeat a skip remembering those moments. I have her letters as well.

What a wonderful topic! Many years ago, i saved a young girl from being mugged at the airport. Before she departed for her homeland, Poland, she insisted of having my name and address. Big was my surprise when 3 weeks later i received a letter from her. Thus started a letter friendship via mail, which lasted for years, until she lost her life to cancer. It is indescribable the bond you form with a person through letters in the mail. The anticipation of waiting for the postman's delivery. The excitement of reading something written for you exclusively. The heartaches shared. The joys and conquests celebrated with each other. The laughter over silly mistakes made. The wonder of children growing up... Yes, the old fashioned letter, written by hand on paper, remains a magical way of communication. Sadly, our rushed lives, and modern tecnology, has relegated letter writing, to a bygone area. Something to be mourned, as a passing to death
