Jennifer Mitts, a teacher from Tennessee (USA), was allegedly forced to resign her post at Red Bank High School after taking a sick student to the emergency room and footing the bill.
The 20 year old student became very ill during class and since this student had no health insurance Jennifer Mitts, the students teacher, obtained permission from the parents then took this student to the emergency room and paid for their treatment herself. Upon hearing this school officials (In her own words), "dictated to me what I should write in my resignation letter, including forcing me to waive my right to a hearing".
Confused? Well, according to Stacey Stewart (assistant superintendent of human resources for the district) "Its a liability issue. It's an issue of insubordination after doing something you were officially warned not to do and doing it again. It's an issue of neglect of duty because the classroom was left unattended. There's several issues." so apparently the state of Tennessee has very strict laws on when, where and under what circumstances one can be a Good Samaritan.
"something you were officially warned not to do" refers to a similar case where Jennifer took another student to the hospital. The student in question had this to say: "I was the student that she took to the er [emergency room] last year. I had a temp of 105, pneumonia, a kidney infection && a bladder infection. I was also 7 months pregnant. Ms. Mitts saved my baby boys life as well as mine! And she did it out of the kindness of her heart, NOT because I asked."

That women should be treated as a hero because her deeds are a brilliant example of humanity, kindness and compassion.
She just saved 3 lifes including that of a unborned baby of a teacher's salary while rich prople and a twisted system would just have let them die.
It's an outrage! She gets fired just because she tought outside the box and took matters in her own hands?
Just think about it:by the time paramedics get there that person's condition could get worse or even die.
Buttom point is that she is a hero and deserves to be treated like one.She is an example of a noble heart in a world run by savage minds...
