Santa went to an auction and bid for a parrot 1000 rupees. Someone else bid 2000.
Santa bid 2500, but someone bid 3000.
Santa bid 3000, but someone bid 4000.
Santa was determined to buy the bird and put in a final bid of 4500 rupees. This time there was no other bids and parrot was sold to Santa.
"That's a lot of money I've paid for this bird," said Santa to auctioneer.
"I hope it can talk."
"Of course it can,"
replied the auctioneer.
"Who do you think was bidding against you?"
