Real Name: Miguel Jontel Pimentel
Who was born and raised in San Pedro, Los Angeles, California.
Miguel Is one of two sons born a Mexican father and an African American woman. He discovered music in his tender age; he listens to the music his parents listened to; Jazz, classic rock and the likes of it. He wanted to be a dancer at the age of 8, but later decided to pursue his music career at the age of 13. At 14, he started writing and developing his own songs. He was later introduced by his friend in his ninth grade to a Production company called Drop Squad, where he learnt his way around the studio before going for a record deal.
He later signed a production deal with Drop Squad in 2000. Which afterwards, he got signed to recorded label called Black Ice where started recording his first studio album; Young and Free. After Leaving Black Ice Records in order to promote his face and voice, he got signed to Jive Records
In 2010, Miguel became supporting artiste to Trey songs and Usher. Miguel said he is influenced by other RnB Artiste like The weekend, Elle Varner and Frank Ocean
Miguel has won Four Awards so far; BET, Grammy and AMA inclusive.
