its about a 17 y.o. boy who killed his dad but doesnt remember because he has blackouts and doesnt remember doing things,so his mom buys an old hotel in another town and she calls it the bates motel,while her son continues to have violent blackouts,she tries to protect him from others he becomes more dangerous to his self and others. his name is norman bates. the whole show is based on the alfred hitchcock series physco.

yes,the original physco was a horror,but the new bates motel is more of a thriller,and is a weekly show not a movie.
