I had an issue with my PC as it was switching off irr egularly whenever I played games with the 9600 GT Graphics Card. COMPAQ told me to upgrade power supply. Now i upgraded from 1 GB to 2 GB RAM and installed 600W SMPS {power supply}. Its playing fine now

First u need to check the memory[RAM]. Make sure the contacts are clean. Try moving it from one slot to another. If reseating will not help, find a known good memory stick and test the PC again. Try starting the PC without the hard drive. Sometimes a failed hard drive can halt entire system.
Even if that doesn't work then Check all connections. Remove all devices and leave only three main parts: motherboard, processor and memory. Test the PC with an other monitor. If you still experience the same problem most likely your PC have a failed motherboard or SMPS

Its got fixed by a specialist but next day again the disease starts

PC users use to know such details. Double check the power suply cable. Is there any BIOS error after soon after power on? I mean any beep sound?

No beep sound when the processor starts. Light on for 2 seconds on and off again after 5 seconds on then offQuote:
