The Cat Fanciers Association (CFA), the organization that holds the largest registry of pedigree cats in the world, publishes a list ofthe ten most popular catbreeds around the world each year. There are more than 100 million pet cats all over the world, with the most popular being mixed breeds. However, for those who prefer a purebred cat (which is a cat that is a product of two parents of the samebreed), here are the 10 most popular pedigree cat breeds, according tothe CFA.
1. Persian
The Persian cat has beenthe most popular purebred cat since the CFA started keeping records in 1871. This type of cat is a high-maintenance one that must be groomed daily.
