The world is chrome....! by LoneLy_heArt 2011/07/03 06:58
Google Chrome is one of the fastest growing web browsers out there and is the go-to browser for geeks and businesses alike. Apart from its fast loading times and small footprint, extensions by third party developers offer some of the best features, and they all come free. Some of the must-have extensions for any Google Chrome user are:

1. iReader: Makes reading long articles on webpages easier, by stripping away all the ads and displaying the articles as easy-to-read scrollable display.

2. Chrome to Paper: With a click of the button, send webpages you want to read later to Instapaper. Saved pages can be read later on your iPhone or Android device.

3. Silver Bird: It allows you to follow your twitter timeline and to interact with the account. Allows you to view your tweets and DM, without leaving the comfort of your browser.

4. Mail Checker Plus: Makes sure that you never miss your Gmail when it arrives. Displays the number of unread messages, shows a preview of the incoming mail, and lets you read, delete and archive the messages. Gives out desktop and sound notifications when new mail arrives in your inbox.

5. Google Dictionary: Lets you view definitions easily when you browse the web. Select a word or abbreviation, and it will automatically show the meaning or the full form of the abbreviation.

6. Google Quickscroll: Helps speed up your Google searches by showing bits of text from the webpage that are most relevant to your query. The text is shown at the bottom-right corner of the page, and clicking on it takes you to the relevant section in the webpage.

7. Search by Image: Many times we see an image on the Internet and wonder what it is. What is that building? What is that actors name? This cool extension from Google lets you search using pictures on the web.

8. Boomerang for Gmail: Want your boss to think that you are working late? Send him a mail at three in the night using Boomerang, without even waking up. Or you dont want to be disturbed for half an hour? Boomerang will postpone incoming emails to a later time. It lets you schedule message sending and receiving on Gmail and is a handy extension for tricky situations...

I did but I like safari more, and since apple claims it's the fastest browser it becomes a hot topic itself.
