The elephant has a big body. It is about 8 or 10 feet high. It has a large head with a short thick neck. Its eyes are watchful. It has a large trunk infront of its head.
The trunk almost reaches the ground. With the trunk it puts food into its mouth. It can pick up small things like needles or coins with its trunk. But the trunk is very strong and the elephant can break down large branches of trees with it.
The elephant also breathes of through the trunk. Thus the trunk works as its hand and nose. The ears of the elephant are very big and look like winnowing fans . The elephant has 4 leags . Each leg is like a thick pillar.
The male elephant has two tusks, one on each side of the trunk. The tusk are very strong and the elephant can tear asunder hard rocks with them. The elephant has a short tail too. .
The elephant is a native of india, burma and africa. Its body is generally grey . Some elephant are white, but these are found only in Burma
