What country you in?
SpArKo 2008/05/13 06:05
Speed mostly depend upon your net connection, browsers make slight difference which is almost negligible on PC. Anyways, go for Opera or Mozilla

Wel u can surely speed up ur net by downloading internet download manager 5.12..Type internet download manager in google n ull get it..It wil increase ur download speed for upto 500 times n trust me it does..
Heavens_DeviL 2008/05/13 08:28
Firefox renders pages faster than Opera or IE. /smiley For downloading purpose, download managers can be used like Flashget, Internet Download Manager etc. But still u wont get speed more than ur ISP offers

Just wanna clear @ lIVINg_fOSSIl, speed u r mentioning (4.6 kBps) is the speed u get in normal browsing conditions. Ur network actually offers more speed (thats the speed u get after using Internet Download Manager). So if u wanna say that u r fooling ur ISP/GPRS provider by using download manager and squeezing more speed, u r actually fooling urself by considering urself smartpants. There are no softwares or tricks to get more speed than ur ISP offers
Heavens_DeviL 2008/05/15 03:10
I will give u an example, im a subscriber of BSNL broadband Home 500 plan. They offer me 2Mbps speed. But if i download using browsers like Opera, Firefox or IE; i dont get downloading speed more than 60-70 KBps. (Around 500 Kbps) But when i use Internet Download Manager my downloading speed increases to 240-250 KBps. (Around 2 Mbps) And thats the speed my ISP offers. i hope that clears ur doubt, even after using download manager i didnt got speed more than what my ISP provides. /smiley
